About Me

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I completed my PhD at Columbia University and specialize in American politics and formal theory. 

My research centers on how federalism influences policy design and implementation. In particular, I examine the division of control over public goods provision between state and federal governments as well as state/local governments and private actors. Using formal and empirical methods, I analyze the impact of these relationships on inequality and policy design.
